South Bay JACL

The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) is the nation's largest membership-based Asian American civic organization. The National JACL has more than 12,000 members in 112 chapters across the country, with staffed offices in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle.

The South Bay Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (SB JACL) is a civic organization dedicated to serving the Japanese American community and preserving the cultural heritage of Japanese Americans especially in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1973 and is one of 35 chapters of JACL Pacific Southwest District.

South Bay JACL Members come from all over the South Bay area including Torrance, Long Beach, San Pedro, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Gardena, Harbor City, Lomita, Wilmington, Carson and Compton (even Foothill Ranch).

Board Meetings are typically held at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., except July, August and December. If you wish to attend a Board Meeting, please contact us..
