South Bay JACL Scholarship Recipients

DAVID & LILY NAKATANI SCHOLARSHIP

Lily Nakatani has been a valuable and long time Board Member for the South Bay JACL. They want to help our local high school students by offering a $1,000.00 scholarship.

DAVID & LILY NAKATANI SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT 2026

Jasper Ho, son of Christopher and Tomoko Ho of Torrance graduated from South Torrance High School with many Scholastic Honors which include being a member of the California Scholastic Federation, he earned the District Japanese Learners Award, and Student of the Month Award. Jasper was an AP Scholar, he was a Boys and Girls State Nominee and he earned a full ride scholarship to Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership. and he was a Homecoming Court Finalist.

Jasper’s on campus activities includes being Class Vice Principal for the Associated Student Body, a Commissioner of Athletics & Fine Arts for the Student Council Leadership, Jasper was Inter-Club Representative and Vice President for Sustainable South Environmental Club. Jasper was also the Educational Coordinator for Best Buddies Internation Club and the Commissioner of Spirit for Apollo Athenea Service Club.

Jasper’s off campus activities includes being a Welcoming Group member for the Good Community Church.

Jasper will be attending the University of California Irvine in the fall, majoring in Biomedical Engineering
